Every great brand begins with a simple, powerful idea. Ours started with a daughter, two pets, and a mother’s wish for something pure and lasting.
A Winter Morning's Realization
On a quiet winter morning, our founder, Abby, watched a familiar scene unfold by the fireplace. Her daughter, Elsa, played happily with her cat, “Mimi,” and dog, “Vovo.” But as Mimi batted at plastic blocks and Vovo trotted by with a toy car, Abby noticed the faint chemical smell and the inevitable wear and tear of the brightly colored plastic. As a veteran market director with a deep love for Nordic simplicity and sustainability, a question arose in her mind: Why not create a toy with warmth? A toy as pure as a Nordic forest, as close as a family pet, one that could grow with a child and be kind to the earth. In that moment, surrounded by family, the idea for Mivoody was born.
A Quest for the Perfect Material
In 2015, Abby left her design career to embark on a “journey for wood.” Her quest took her through the vast forests of China and Brazil. She wasn’t just looking for any wood, but for a material with a story—one that was warm to the touch, beautiful in its natural grain, and harvested with respect for the planet. Her search ended in a partnership with a family-owned, FSC-certified forest farm. Here, she found oak and pine that met her vision: sustainable, traceable, and imbued with the pure essence of nature. This became the heartwood of Mivoody.

To ensure absolute safety, Abby insisted on using only non-toxic, water-based paints. This choice not only protects children but also preserves the beautiful, natural grain of the wood, making each toy unique.
Simplicity is Timeless
In her designs, Abby adheres to the principle of “less is more.” Mivoody toys have no flashing lights or noisy sound effects—only smooth, rounded corners and simple forms that invite a child’s imagination to fill in the rest.

From animal blocks to stacking toys, each piece is designed to be more than just an object of play. It’s a companion, meant to be held, loved, and passed down, carrying with it the warm memories of childhood.
Building the Dream
A beautiful philosophy needs a powerful foundation. In 2019, our modern, 20-acre factory was established, equipped with 104 professional machines and a team of 64 skilled craftsmen. This solid manufacturing base, combined with over 20 years of industry experience, paved the way for the official launch of the Mivoody brand in 2024. Today, we are proud to share our heartfelt creations with families around the world.
